A man whose tragic death was captured on camera Saturday has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office as 37-year-old Marquise Durran Singer. The fatal incident occurred at the Laurel Glen Apartments, located in the 11100 block of West Loop 1604 in San Antonio, Texas.
San Antonio Police Department officers were dispatched to the apartment complex following a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Singer deceased in a stairwell from apparent gunshot wounds. His cause of death has since been officially ruled as homicide due to those injuries.
The incident quickly gained public attention when a neighbor provided a video to KENS 5, showing the moments leading up to the fatal shooting. According to police, the suspect in the shooting is a 28-year-old woman who was reportedly an ex-girlfriend of the victim. At the time, authorities indicated that she was “possibly facing criminal charges.” However, as of Tuesday, the San Antonio Police Department stated that the woman had not been arrested. The ultimate decision regarding criminal charges will be left to the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, which continues to review the evidence and circumstances surrounding the case.
