Margot A. Bolton, beloved matriarch and cherished family figure, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the age of 82. Her loss leaves a profound void in the lives of her family and all who were touched by her warmth, creativity, and lively spirit.
Margot was the devoted mother of Andrea (Rauser) and Jennifer (Thatcher), and a much-adored Nana to Amy, Rachel, Brittany, and Nicole. She was also a treasured friend and mother-in-law to Phil (Thatcher) and Erick (Rauser). Her extended family and community mourn the departure of a woman whose presence brightened every gathering.
She was predeceased by her loving husband and life partner, Gord (Gerald Gordon) Bolton, as well as her parents, Alfred and Mary Isabella Thomasson, and siblings Shirley Percival, Joyce Warren, and Rev. Canon Harold Thomasson.
Margot’s life was marked by joy and passion. Known for her impeccable style, artistic talents, and sharp wit, she filled every moment with energy and laughter. Her love of sailing and time spent floating around the Bahamas reflected her adventurous spirit. She nurtured a vibrant garden, crafted exquisite sewing and painting projects, and created treasured family moments camping and cottaging around Lake Huron. Her legacy lives on in her artistic granddaughters, her beloved recipes—especially her signature stuffing and gravy—and her unforgettable smile.
In keeping with Margot’s wishes, there will be no visitation or formal service at this time. The family plans to hold a private celebration of life at a later date to honor her memory in a meaningful way.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel. In tribute to Margot’s enduring legacy, a tree will be planted in her memory in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, symbolizing the life, growth, and beauty she brought into the world.
Margot A. Bolton’s memory will forever remain a blessing to her family and all who had the honor of knowing her.
